ICAIE 2025 Concludes Successfully: Exploring the New Future of AI-Education Integration


2025 4th Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education (ICAIE 2025) successfully concluded on November 22, 2025, in Nanjing.Hosted by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) and organized by the College of Artificial Intelligence at NUAA, the conference brought together200 experts, scholars, and educators from the global AI and education fields, both online and offline. Centered on the theme "AI Empowering Educational Innovation, Co-building a New Smart Education Ecosystem," the event featured a diverse program including an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, tea break networking, oral presentations, and poster sessions, creating a high-level, interdisciplinary academic feast.

Opening Ceremony: Gathering in Nanjing to Discuss New Opportunities in AI and Education

On the morning of November 22, the opening ceremony was chaired by Zhu Qi, Associate Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence at NUAA.

Associate Dean Zhu Qi first extended a warm welcome to the guests and participants, and introduced the distinguished attendees: Kong Chuiqian, Director of the Academic Affairs Office at NUAA; Yuan Zonghu, Party Secretary of the College of Artificial Intelligence at NUAA; Yang Yi, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Artificial Intelligence at NUAA; Professor Chen Songcan of NUAA (President of the Jiangsu Association for Artificial Intelligence); Professor David Peter Towey of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China; Professor Wei Mingqiang of NUAA; Professor Yang Yang of Nanjing University of Science and Technology; Professor Tian Chunwei of Harbin Institute of Technology; Associate Professor Yu Yinbo of NUAA; Associate Professor Zhai Xiangping of NUAA; and Assistant Professor Wan Peng of NUAA.

Following this, Director Kong Chuiqian delivered a speech on behalf of the host, emphasizing that NUAA, as a university distinguished by its "Aviation, Aerospace, and Civil Aviation" characteristics, has always valued the interdisciplinary integration of AI and education. He expressed the hope that this conference would serve as a high-level platform for exchange, promoting both theoretical innovation and practical implementation of "AI + Education."

Keynote Speeches: Top-tier Perspectives Unlocking Frontier Topics

After the opening ceremony, the morning keynote session was chaired by Associate Professor Yu Yinbo of the College of Artificial Intelligence at NUAA.

Professor David Peter Towey of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (Head of the School of Computer Science and Deputy Director of the International Doctoral Innovation Centre) spoke on "Metamorphic Relations: How to Test the 'Hard-to-Test' Software," drawing on his foundational research in software testing to explore innovative pathways for technology-enhanced education.

Professor Wei Mingqiang of NUAA (Doctoral Supervisor, National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars recipient) addressed "Exploration and Reflections on the Development of AI General Education Courses for Science and Engineering Universities," sharing his experience in building a "layered matrix + blended teaching" model for AI general education courses, providing a reference for implementing AI education in universities.

Professor Yang Yang of Nanjing University of Science and Technology (Doctoral Supervisor, National Young Top-notch Talent) focused on "Balanced Learning for Complex Multi-modal Data," analyzing core technologies and practical value of autonomous learning for big data in open environments.

Professor Tian Chunwei of Harbin Institute of Technology (Doctoral Supervisor, Shenzhou Scholar) presented "Digital Human Technology Empowering Education," showcasing innovative applications of digital human technology in educational scenarios and offering new directions for upgrading smart education formats.

In addition, 23 high-quality academic posters were displayed during the tea break, with outstanding poster awards selected through joint scoring by expert judges and participants, providing an excellent platform for young scholars to exchange ideas and engage in close academic interaction.

The afternoon oral presentation session was chaired by Associate Professor Li Bohan of NUAA.

DSC00790-opq4143288331.jpgThirteen scholars from universities including Central China Normal University, China University of Mining and Technology, and The Education University of Hong Kong shared their latest research findings and practical explorations, focusing on key areas such as AI-empowered collaborative learning, affective computing applications, personalized learning trajectory analysis, and intelligent development of open educational resources, demonstrating the diverse research ecosystem and innovative vitality of the field.

After all oral presentations concluded, the conference moved to the awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding achievements:

Not an End, But a Beginning: Joining Forces Toward a New Future in Smart Education

As an important practice of NUAA in promoting the interdisciplinary integration of "Intelligence + Education," ICAIE 2025 not only comprehensively presented the latest advances in AI-education integration—from AI general education curriculum development to smart education ecosystem construction, from educational data mining to digital technology empowerment—but also built bridges for cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The 200 participants, through online and offline interaction, reached multiple academic consensuses and facilitated several collaborative intentions.

With this, 2025 4th Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education (ICAIE 2025) came to a successful close, but the exploration of AI-education integration knows no bounds. We look forward to reuniting with colleagues from academia and industry worldwide to continue deepening exchanges and cooperation, jointly promoting high-quality development of smart education, and injecting more innovative vitality into the digital transformation of education.
